Lawyers specializing in the field know of no cases that have reached a verdict, or of any appellate cases, but the problem’s growing prominence promises to end that. Employers that take steps to protect employees may actually be more liable, under the Good Samaritan doctrine. Domestic violence already costs companies nationwide $3 billion to $5 billion annually.
